The human brain is the result of millions of years of evolution, but it is still that of a primate whose most important characteristic is its social world. Given these circumstances, it is not surprising that what most affects the brain are the members of the group, what other people do, say or think. Therefore, rather than being rational, our brain has a strong social and emotional character, which makes it very vulnerable. Human relationships are largely based on language, thanks to which we have reached great heights of technological and scientific progress. But, given the true nature of our brain, language can also be a powerful tool for influencing others. Our behaviour, our emotions, our decisions or our way of thinking are modulated, in an important way, by language.
